This is an intensive 2-day face-to-face course, designed to prepare delegates for the
FRCS General Surgery Part 2 exams with the subspecialty interest in Breast Surgery.
The course is designed for delegates training at ST7 and ST8 (we also accept
observers who are training between ST3 and ST6 level) and run by post FRCS surgical
registrars/fellows and newly qualified oncoplastic breast consultants, all of whom
have first-hand experience with the current FRCS Part 2 Viva format.
The delegate to tutor ratio is 2:1. This course focuses on the breast component of the FRCS
General Surgery Part 2 exam and therefore, it is most beneficial for breast trainees who feel
confident/competent about their general surgery knowledge/skills and would like to improve
on the breast surgery component of the exam.
Day 1: Consists of knowledge acquisition and framework development, tailored to each
individual station. This is carried out in comfortable and informal settings of group
discussions (4-5 per group with 2-3 tutors), interspaced by lectures for the entire
group.
Day 2: Consists of knowledge acquisition through lectures for the entire group and
focuses on the application of knowledge, through back-to-back rounds of simulated
FRCS Part 2 Viva format. Each delegate will be interviewed by one tutor per station
and assessed using scoring schemes similar to exam marking sheets.

Refreshments and lunch provided both days.
Course dinner will be provided on the 9th March 2022 (jointly sponsored by Endomag
and Raise Healthcare)
