In this half-day practical workshop, you will learn to perform GI anastomosis on a porcine model.
This course is aimed at general surgical trainees (ST3 to ST8).
The course will be tutored by experienced Consultant surgeons.
At the end of the course, depending on your progress, you will be expected to have gained a good working knowledge of the following:
- Principles of GI anastomosis
- Techniques and pitfalls
- Hand-sewn and stapled small bowel/colon anastomosis
- Hand-sewn and stapled gastrojejunostomy
- Hand-sewn oesophageal or anal anastomosis
