This one-day course held in the Surgical Skills Centre, involves a competency based approach to Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty Techniques for a maximum of 10 ENT Surgical Trainees. Candidates will be working in pairs on a Thiel fixed cadaver based work station. A series of structured exercises have been devised so that trainees can complete a variety septorhinoplasty simulations covering the following
- Mid columella and hemitranfixion incisions
- Septoplasty
- Hump reduction and osteotomies
- Tip sculpturing and basic tip suturing
- Spreader graft
- Dorsal graft
- Columella strut
WORKSTATION HANDS ON TRAINING
The course provides:
- Instruction in the use of instrumentation
- “Hands on” practical anatomical and surgical skills experience using cadavers
- Personal tuition from experienced otolaryngologists
- Evidence of skills training and competency
